Joas joined Everaert Advocaten as a paralegal in May 2026. His practice areas include nationality law, family reunification, and private international law.

In 2026, Joas earned his master’s degree in Constitutional and Administrative Law from Leiden University, graduating cum laude. He wrote his master’s thesis on the legal position of so-called RANOV’ers: foreign nationals who were granted lawful residence in the Netherlands in 2007 through a general amnesty, but some of whom have still not been able to obtain the Dutch citizenship. In particular, he examined recent case law on requests to correct personal data in the Dutch personal records database (brp) for the purpose of naturalization.

Prior to joining Everaert Advocaten, Joas worked at the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND), where he gained knowledge and practical experience in nationality law and Turkish association law.
