We end this year on a high note. Earlier this month we witnessed two of our paralegals, Leonie Haenen and Sofia Helbing being sworn in as lawyers, marking the start of their apprenticeship within our firm. On top of that, we are delighted to announce that as of January 1st 2024, our dear colleagues Thomas van Houwelingen-Boer and Elles Besselsen will become partners in the firm.
Thomas started his career at Everaert on April 1, 2016. He advises both large international companies and small businesses on residence permits for (highly skilled) personnel from abroad. He also deals with matters related to the right of residence of citizens of the EU, notably cases concerning family-based applications involving family members from outside the EU. Thomas is a member of the Advisory Committee for Immigration Law of the Dutch Bar Association and an editorial board member of the Journal on Immigration Law.
Elles has been with our office since June 1, 2018 and is a specialist in the field of European immigration law and nationality law. She assists private individuals, particularly in the areas of family migration, EU residence rights (such as Chavez-Vilchez) and acquisition and loss of Dutch citizenship. Elles also assists a large group of independent artists, musicians and dancers. She regularly writes articles for professional journals and is active at Lawyers 4 Lawyers.
We couldn’t ask for a better team to start with in 2024.
