Mirjam specializes in Dutch nationality law. She assists private clients with option and naturalization requests (also from abroad), passport applications and with obtaining dual nationality. Mirjam also represents former Dutch citizens in procedures aimed at regaining Dutch citizenship.
In addition, she has extensive experience in the field of EU law (family reunification, stay with a Dutch or EU child & EU permanent residence) and the Brexit. You can also contact Mirjam for regular applications for family reunification, permanent residence or advice on name change procedures.
Before Mirjam joined Everaert Immigration Lawyers in 2017, she worked as an intern at the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (the Netherlands Embassy in Vienna).
Mirjam completed the bachelor European Studies, the master European Law and the master International Migration and Refugee law (all with honours). She also studied at the University of Heidelberg (Germany) for six months.
Mirjam is fluent in both Dutch and English. In 2017 she won the Hanneke Steenbergen Thesis Award for the best Dutch master thesis in the field of migration law. Mirjam publishes in national journals on Dutch nationality and immigration law.
