Thomas’ application work includes work and residence permits for highly skilled workers as well as sponsor registration applications. He advises both large international companies and small businesses.
He also deals with matters related to the right of residence of citizens of the EU, notably cases concerning family-based applications involving family members from outside the EU.
He is a member of the Advisory Committee for Immigration Law of the Dutch Bar Association and an editorial board member of the Journal on Immigration Law.
Thomas studied both Law and French Language & Culture at Leiden University.
Netherlands Bar registration
Thomas van Houwelingen has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):
- Immigration law
Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
