Adam’s expertise lies in family reunification and employment migration. He counsels private individuals and legal entities on applications for residence as independent contractors, EU-review, salaried employment, highly skilled migrants, residence permits to stay with a partner or parents. He also litigates civil law proceedings regarding name changes in the Persons Data Base of Dutch municipalities.
Most of his clients are Chinese who find it very convenient that they can speak Chinese with him without the need for an interpreter.
Adam used to live in China. Upon his return he worked for almost twenty years as a sworn interpreter and translator for Dong Fang Yuan, a translation and interpreting agency before joining Everaert Advocaten Immigration Lawyers. Because of his wealth of experience with China he is highly knowledgeable about Chinese source documents and legislation. Knowledge that is indispensable in his immigration law practice.
Adam studied classical guitar at the Amsterdam School of the Arts and holds a degree in classical music in education. He went on to study sinology at Leiden University and at the University of Nanjing and Hangzhou in China. To top it off, he obtained a degree in law from VU University Amsterdam, specializing in administrative law.
Adam is fluent in Dutch, Chinese/Mandarin and English.
Netherlands Bar registration
Adam Diels has registered the following principal legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):
- Immigration law
- Administrative law
Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
