Recently our firm has finalized several different cases successfully concerning dual citizenship.

Although the Dutch legislator discourages dual citizenship for Dutch nationals, in some situations it is still possible to keep your original nationality while obtaining Dutch nationality and a Dutch passport.

Examples are:

  • Dual citizenship through naturalization
  • The option procedure
  • Latent Dutch citizens: children born before 1985 from a Dutch mother and foreign father.

If you are interested in the possibilities of dual citizenship in your situation, please contact Hermie de Voer.

You can listen to the podcast 'How to become Dutch' concerning dual citizenship here.
