Mirjam specialises in Dutch citizenship law. In the past 2,5 years she has assisted many Dutch citizens or so-called ‘latent Dutch citizens’ with their applications for a Dutch passport/Dutch citizenship. She also provided a great number of international private clients with expert advice on their Dutch citizenship position. On top of that, Mirjam has significant experience in (EU) family reunification law.
Before Mirjam joined Everaert Immigration Lawyers, she worked as an intern at the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (the Netherlands Embassy in Vienna).
Mirjam completed the bachelor European Studies, the master European Law and the master International Migration and Refugee law (all with honours). She also studied at the University of Heidelberg (Germany) for six months. Since February 2020 she meets the requirements to be registered at the Netherlands Bar.
Mirjam is fluent in both Dutch and English. In 2017 she won the Hanneke Steenbergen Thesis Award for the best Dutch master thesis in the field of migration law. Mirjam publishes in national journals on Dutch nationality and immigration law.
