Gertjan van Andelattorney-at-law 'of counsel'
Gertjan has nearly 40 years of practice experience in the field of migration law. Before joining Everaert Advocaten as a partner in 1987, he worked for the Amsterdam law centre, where he helped initiate the provision of professional legal services to foreign nationals. He is now with our firm as of counsel.
From the outset his focus has been on employment immigration. Gertjan counsels multinationals and smaller national and international companies on intra-company transfers and the relocation of their staff to the Netherlands, taking care of the required visas, residence and work permits. He also counsels migrants who wish to take up residence in the Netherlands as independent contractors.
Gertjan is an experienced litigator with specific expertise in the refusal of applications for visas, residence or work permits, and penalties for illegal employment. For many years he has represented clients appealing against detention pending deportation.
He believes in direct lines of communication and personal contact with both clients and officials, always with the goal of finding quick and effective solutions.
Gertjan speaks Dutch, French, German, English and Russian.
