Today the immigration and naturalization department has released a statement that the restrictions on family reunification, which we informed you about via our website earlier, will not take effect per 1 July 2012.

If and when these restrictions will take effect will be communicated at a later stage. The parliamentary committee on Immigration, Integration and Asylum is to hold a general debate on this issue on 21 June 2012. We will keep you informed through our website on the outcome of this debate as well as a possible new date that these restrictions will take effect.
