Ramiwel, the Miskito Indian from Nicaragua who appeared with his Dutch wife Jacqueline in KRO’s program ‘Liefs uit’ has gotten a residence permit to stay with Jacqueline in the Netherlands.

Ramiwel is exempt from the Integration requirement (Civic Integration Examination Abroad). While submitting his application, Ramiwel asked Mr. Erik Scheers for help with exemption from this integration requirement because Ramiwel could not be reasonably expected to successfully complete the civic integration exam in Nicaragua due to his background and language level. While the integration requirement is strict, the IND saw in this specific case, reason to waive the requirement. Ramiwel entered the Netherlands and is now staying with Jacqueline at her mini-camping in Vrouwenpolder.
