A partnership of natural persons and a practice with corporate personality Everaert Advocaten has its registered office and place of business in Amsterdam. It is listed with the Chamber of Commerce for Amsterdam under number 34340584.

All the lawyers in our firm are registered with the Dutch Bar Association and are members of the specialist association Werkgroep Rechtsbijstand in Vreemdelingenzaken (Legal Aid in Alien Affairs Working Group). Our lawyers further hold membership of various national and international professional associations, such as SVMA, IBA, EILN and AILA as international associates.

Our services are governed by our general terms and conditions. These general terms and conditions stipulate that the legal relationship between Everaert Advocaten and its clients is governed by Dutch law, that the Dutch court has jurisdiction to settle any disputes arising from that relationship, save in the events in which the Geschillenregeling Advocatuur applies and provides for disputes resolution by the Disputes Committee for the Legal Profession.

Knowledge and Quality

Everaert Advocaten is known for its high-quality specialist service in immigration law. This means that we have to keep up our knowledge and quality at the highest level. We invest a great deal of time, effort and funds in quality assurance and the training of our legal and support staff.

Our quality is measured first and foremost by our clients. After a case has been closed we ask every client to complete a client satisfaction form.

Rates

When you first contact our firm you will always speak to a lawyer, who will inform you about our rates.

Legal Aid Funding

Your lawyer will discuss with you whether you are eligible for legal aid funding. In general advice and assistance on filing applications do not qualify for funding, but filing objections or appeals might be. You should meet certain income criteria.

Legal Expenses Insurance

If you have legal expenses insurance, you should contact your insurer before contacting us and ask whether the costs are covered. If your insurer wishes to handle your case or to hire another lawyer, you may say you would prefer our firm. Depending on the type of insurance, your insurer may be obliged to accept your preference. If you wish you could ask your lawyer to contact your insurer.

Fee Statement

If you pay the costs of legal assistance yourself your lawyer will charge an hourly rate. In exceptional cases your lawyer may offer to handle your case for a fixed rate.

If your lawyer charges an hourly fee the fee statement is based on the number of hours spent on the case multiplied by the hourly fee. Your lawyer will inform you about the hourly fee, the services charged, the time s/he expects to spend on the case and the advance to be paid.

Our hourly rates vary from EUR 150 to EUR 240, depending on the lawyer’s experience, the urgency of the case, the specialist knowledge required and the client’s financial capacity.

In addition to the fee disbursements will be charged. These are the expenses to be paid by the client such as office expenses, court fees and administrative charges.
