"A country without immigration is bland, boring and burned out."

Carl Everaert is the co-founder and creator of the Everaert Advocaten formula. He left the law practice on 1 January 2008. On the occasion of his departure, he was named Knight of the Order of Orange Nassau by Her Majesty Queen Beatrix. This honour was bestowed upon him due to the special contribution that he and his office have made with the development of immigration law in the Netherlands. "A land without immigration becomes bland, boring and burned out," says Carl Everaert.

Carl Everaert will remain linked with the office as an advisor. Moreover, on January 2008, the State Secretary of Justice appointed him a member of the commission which supervises the Service of Return and Departure, who oversee the deportation of foreign nationals who have not been permitted to remain in the Netherlands. Finally, he is acting as an immigration consultant to the organisation of the religious in the Netherlands and he has been involved in the development of new immigration legislation on which the Ministry of Justice is currently working.
